Zocdoc, the app that connects users to healthcare providers, has opened its platform to AI agents, the company announced.
AI agents can integrate with Zocdoc’s infrastructure to carry out various duties, including finding providers for patients, verifying insurance plans, and booking and adding appointments to patients’ calendars.
For example, patients can ask an agent, “I need a dermatologist near 10013 who takes Aetna, ideally this week.” The agent can then search through Zocdoc’s provider database to identify one which matches the patient’s needs and insurance details, and book the appointment on their behalf.
On the “Welcome, agents” page, users can also access an array of new features, including switching from human to agent mode and generating text they can copy and paste into their agent.
